Protect the Web: Explore Cybersecurity!

  • Termin in der Vergangenheit
  • Tuesday, 14. May 2024, 18:00 - 19:30 Uhr
  • Mathematikon, seminar room A
    • Diana Waithanji (Cybersecurity Engineer, SAP SE, Germany)

This is a role model talk for women, but everybody is invited to join. We particularly encourage students to attend.

Cybersecurity is like being a detective for computers! This talk will give a general overview about cybersecurity especially in a world of evolving technologies such as AI. This talk will explain different cybersecurity jobs, the skills you'll need, and how to get started. The speaker will also share her story moving from Kenya to Germany via the AFRIKA KOMMT! fellowship programme. (Please note that views in this talk are my own.)

Diana believes that data security is a human right. She currently works at SAP and was previously working in the non-profit sector in Kenya. Diana has several years of experience driving different IT and cybersecurity initiatives. She is a board member at Nivishe Foundation and also sits in two technical committees at the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) namely, the Software and Systems Engineering Committee and the IT Security Committee.

After the talk we will meet for further discussion in a nearby restaurant.
